Apprentice Legal Cashier

Position based at: St Austell

We are currently seeking a motivated individual looking to start a career in our accounts department as an apprentice. The successful applicant will be trained to attain a Business Administration Level 3 Qualification. You will receive learning and support from an external training provider, as well as on the job training from Charles French Solicitors. The training will take approximately 16 months to complete.

Job Responsibilities:

  • To assist in the processing and reconciliation of client and office account funds.
  • Compliance with Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules.
  • Provide support to colleagues with queries on outgoing and incoming payments and billing.
  • Input financial data into the firm’s accounting system, ensuring that records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Provide general administrative assistance to the finance team as needed, including filing, document management, and responding to emails.
  • Learn and utilise office software and equipment effectively.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the office.
  • Provide support to colleagues whenever necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to legal and ethical standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

To be considered for this position, you should meet the following requirements:

  • GCSE or equivalent English and Maths (Grade 4 or above)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Professional and friendly manner with excellent customer service skills.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and privacy of sensitive information.
  • Prior experience in a customer service or office environment is advantageous but not required.

We are currently seeking a skilled and self-motivated property lawyer to join our residential conveyancing department.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a property lawyer, you will be responsible for handling various aspects of residential conveyancing matters. Your primary tasks will include:

  • Managing a diverse caseload of residential property transactions, including sales, purchases, transfers, and remortgages.
  • Conducting comprehensive legal research and providing expert advice on property-related matters.
  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other relevant parties to ensure smooth and efficient completion of transactions.
  • Undertaking due diligence and title investigations to identify any potential issues or risks.
